Minterne Road

2 new spacious family homes.
Location: Minterne Road, Bournemouth
Status: Planning
Use: Residential
Client: Private
2 new spacious family homes replacing an existing 1960s bungalow on a site adjoining the Evening Hill Conservation Area, Poole, Dorset.

The buildings take inspiration from the materials and features in the local vernacular, taking a cue from the strong composition and mixture of contemporary and traditional forms in the area. The architecture is respectful and, co-joins the adjacent conservation area and sensation of place, whilst adding a qualitative investment.

The building layouts capitalise on the existing features of the site and the relationship with the neighbours. Stepped floor plans and an articulated form, respond to the site's topography and treescape, and add architectural interest to the form.

After an initial pre-application submission, SWA prepared a fully detailed application and secured approval for these striking new homes.
