Remodelling and enhancement to the façade of an Italian Restaurant.
Scott Worsfold Associates were commissioned to create new designs to replace the extant consent for two modern homes. Our longstanding client wished for the houses to be designed in the Arts and Crafts style, which was more in keeping with the surrounding area and its origins.
The form and morphology of the houses accord with the syntax of the surroundings.
The site is well screened to the South but gaps within the trees offer glimpses of the built form and so maintain and enhance the sylvan setting and landscape event to Durlston Road.
The eastern elevation fronting De-Redvers Road has been designed to ensure the adjacent unit relates well, with a prominent front door that faces and so permits interaction with the road together with the railing boundary treatment collectively creating a connection and unity.
The side access is far more characterful and offers a greater sense of arrival. Enhanced landscaping and quality textures in the hard landscape materials unite with all to create a composition which is pleasing and suited to its place and setting.
