We are delighted to share that, following a challenging refusal, the Planning Inspectorate has now overturned the decision and granted consent for this striking new pavilion within the green belt.

The approval is for planning permission for a lodge pavilion with a detached garage and associated landscaping - The design, now approved, carefully balances contemporary design with its sensitive setting.

Acting as expert witnesses on matters of Architecture & Design, we presented a clear case for the proposal. The Inspector agreed with our evidence and submissions, allowing the appeal and granting full permission.

A fantastic outcome, and one we are proud to have helped achieve.

We are delighted that planning approval has been secured for the conversion of an existing barn on a rural site at the edge of Worth Matravers, Dorset.

The scheme will transform a disused industrial structure into three stunning 4-bedroom homes, sensitively designed to enhance the local landscape while offering high-quality rural living.

This project marks an exciting step forward in enhancing the area with thoughtfully considered residential design.

Planning Permission Secured for 198-Home Masterplan in Fordingbridge

We are proud to announce that full planning permission has been granted by New Forest District Council for our residential-led masterplan in Fordingbridge, where we have acted as both urban designer and architect.

Working closely with the wider consultant team and stakeholders, we have developed a carefully considered, contextually responsive design for this 17-hectare site, delivering 198 new homes of varying typologies, from one to four bedrooms, including a significant provision of affordable housing.

Our design approach balances residential quality, landscape integration, and community cohesion, embedding long-term sustainability and liveability at every scale. The masterplan is structured around a strong green infrastructure framework and a permeable movement network that supports both environmental and social sustainability.

This scheme exemplifies our commitment to placemaking through sustainable design, where architectural form, landscape character, and community infrastructure are holistically interwoven.

We are proud to play a central role in delivering this transformative development, one that responds meaningfully to both local needs and climate-conscious living.

To celebrate the upcoming Christmas Holidays SWA team took part in a collagraphy workshop at Affordable Art Studios in Wimborne.

Collagraphy is a versatile printing process in which a textured plate is inked up and put through a press. Different textures hold varying amounts of ink and print different tones.

What a fun day this was!
