Significant arboricultural constraints had to be factored into the emerging designs, which were then fully detailed, submitted and approved by the Local Planning Authority.
After completion the LPA novated Aspects for a civic trust design award, resulting in a first place award as design that significantly contributed to the quality and character of the borough.

The buildings take inspiration from the materials and features in the local vernacular, taking a cue from the strong composition and mixture of contemporary and traditional forms in the area. The architecture is respectful and, co-joins the adjacent conservation area and sensation of place, whilst adding a qualitative investment.
The building layouts capitalise on the existing features of the site and the relationship with the neighbours. Stepped floor plans and an articulated form, respond to the site's topography and treescape, and add architectural interest to the form.

The site is well screened to the South but gaps within the trees offer glimpses of the built form and so maintain and enhance the sylvan setting and landscape event to Durlston Road.
The eastern elevation fronting De-Redvers Road has been designed to ensure the adjacent unit relates well, with a prominent front door that faces and so permits interaction with the road together with the railing boundary treatment collectively creating a connection and unity.

To celebrate the upcoming Christmas Holidays SWA team took part in a collagraphy workshop at Affordable Art Studios in Wimborne.
Collagraphy is a versatile printing process in which a textured plate is inked up and put through a press. Different textures hold varying amounts of ink and print different tones.
